The State Home Foreclosure Prevention Project (SHFPP) offers free resources to North Carolinians facing foreclosure through HUD-approved housing counseling agencies statewide. A housing counselor can review your situation and explore options, work with your mortgage servicer, and refer you to a legal service provider. The SHFPP is administered by the NC Housing Finance Agency.
